If you're heading to the Hungarian Grand Prix with a general admission ticket, you're in for a great race weekend. The circuit is located just outside Budapest, and the hills around the track offer some great spots to watch the action even without a grandstand seat. Many of the general admission areas have clear sightlines and natural elevation, especially around the chicane and the middle sector. While it’s not as open as some other circuits, the Hungaroring still offers great views for GA fans. Here’s a guide to help you find the best general admission spots for your weekend at the Hungaroring.
Turns 6 and 7
One of the most popular general admission spots at the Hungaroring is the grassy hill across from the chicane at Turns 6 and 7. This area is elevated, so you get a clear view of the cars as they brake hard and bounce over the curbs through this tight, technical section. It’s a fun place to watch because you can really see how different drivers handle the car through here. There’s plenty of space to sit, especially if you get there early, and it’s a comfortable area to spend most of the day. Big screens are usually set up nearby, which helps you follow the rest of the race.
Turns 9 and 10
Further along the circuit, the area between Turns 9 and 10 is another great general admission option. This is a faster part of the track where the cars flow from one corner into the next. The GA zone is on a hill again, so visibility is good, and it’s often a bit less crowded than the chicane.
Turn 11
Just after Turn 10, you’ll find more general admission space near Turn 11. This is one of the quickest corners at the Hungaroring, and it’s always impressive to see how much grip the cars have through here. It’s a quieter area, and the elevation gives you a decent view without needing to stand all the time. It’s also a good place to take photos thanks to the open angles.
Turn 12 and 13
Closer to the end of the lap, there’s a general admission area near Turns 12 and 13. This is a slower, more technical corner where you can often see drivers working hard to find grip. It’s not as busy as other parts of the circuit, but it’s interesting to watch as drivers prepare for the final corner or dive into the pits. However, it is a bit harder to find a good vieving spot here as it is not on a hill and Apex grandstands are blocking the view.
Turn 14
The final corner is where drivers line up their exit onto the main straight. From the general admission section nearby, you can watch them push hard through the last turn and carry momentum down the straight. This area is close to some of the fan zones and food stalls, which makes it convenient if you want to grab something between sessions. It’s also not too crowded, which makes it easier to find a good spot later in the day.
Main Straight
There is some general admission space along the main straight, but it’s set quite far back from the track on a hill behind multiple grandstands. You’ll hear the cars at full speed and feel the atmosphere at the race start or finish, but the view isn’t as clear or close-up as it is in other GA zones. If you're just looking to catch the cars flying by and soak in the energy, it's worth a short visit, but it’s not the best place to stay all day.
