With all the advantages of public transport in Budapest, you don't have to take a taxi to the Hungaroring. But if you do, there are a few things to keep in mind.

In 2025, the official taxi provider for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring will be Főtaxi. You can order a taxi via their mobile app, through their website, or by calling +36 1 222 2222. One of the advantages of using Főtaxi is that they are the only taxi company allowed to use the special VIP access road to the circuit, making travel faster compared to other taxi companies.

Still, you need to keep in mind that the travel time from central Budapest to the circuit is between 30 to 40 minutes.

Taxi fares to the circuit are not fixed and mostly depend on the starting point and traffic conditions. According to Főtaxi, the basic fare within and outside the outer parts of Budapest is HUF 1,100 (approximately €3), with an additional per-minute fee of HUF 110 (about €0.50). The per-kilometre charge within Budapest is HUF 440 (€1.50), while journeys that go beyond the city limits are charged HUF 880 (€2.50) per kilometre. Based on this information, the journey to the circuit from the Buda side of the city is estimated to cost between HUF 14,000 and 18,000 (€36 to €46), while a ride from the Pest side is expected to be around HUF 13,000 to 16,000 (€33 to €41).

The designated pick-up and drop-off point for taxis is located near Gate 8 of the circuit, which is close to the first corner. However, you should keep in mind that taxi queues can become very long at peak times.
