Budapest is divided into two central districts, Buda and Pest, located on both sides of the Danube. It is most convenient to stay on the flat side of Pest, where most of the shops, restaurants and bars are located. However, if you want to stay in a quieter environment, look for accommodation on the historic side of Buda.
